For those of you who don’t know much about triathlons and simply plan to spectate, this is a race that involves completing a beyond strenuous course by swimming, biking and running to the finish line. To be exact, that’s a ½ mile swim, 15 mile bike ride and 3.5 mile run – we’re exhausted just thinking about it!

To compete, you must be at least 15 years old and due to the fact that this is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event, all participants will need to be a USAT member or purchase a one-day membership. For more information about that, visit the official USA Triathlon website.

All first time triathletes will be able to register as a Novice. In an effort to make you feel more comfortable about the challenge that lies ahead, there will be a clinic held at the race transition site on the night before the race at 6pm. There, the race course and triathlon rules will be explained and you will be able to ask any questions you may have. Additionally, an “all you can eat” pasta dinner will be held at Gary’s Dewey Beach Grill on that Friday, September 12th from 5pm-9:30pm for all participants.
